Andrew climbing

Andrew and I had a great day in Stob Coire nan Lochan today climbing “Boomerang Edge” which gave 250m or so of excellent grade II climbing. Despite the forecast, the weather was much better than predicted, but started to deteriorate

The rain on Friday soaked the snow pack and it had started to freeze – lower down it gave a hardish crust which post-holed and was hard work – higher up it formed excellent neve and good ice in places!

Plenty of snow elsewhere and some evidence of avalanche activity – NC and Pinnacle gullies were chocked full of soft, windblown and slaby snow, even though some folk had climbed them today.
