Terms and Conditions  

Conditions of Booking: Participants agree to abide by such regulations that Davy Virdee may consider advisable. £100 deposit is due at time of booking to guarantee your place. Full payment is required four weeks prior to the commencement.

If the course is scheduled less than four weeks in the future, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Cancellation: Participants should understand that if they cancel their booking, any deposit will be forfeited. Participants should also understand that if they cancel or amend their booking within four weeks of the course date and their place cannot be filled, they will be liable for the full cost. Davy Virdee reserves the right to cancel any booking should it be necessary – should this be the case, a full refund or an alternative will be offered.

Amendments: Alterations to bookings are available a minimum of four weeks prior to the booking date if participants request this in writing. Participants requesting booking alterations within four weeks of the course date will be liable for the full cost of the course if their place cannot be filled.

Health and Experience: Participants agree to notify Davy Virdee in writing of any underlying health issues that may affect their or other participant’s safety; and to notify Davy Virdee in writing of any relevant climbing or mountaineering experience they have to allow Davy Virdee to ensure you and other participants have an enjoyable and safe experience.

COVID-19. All activities will follow any current advice.

Insurance and Safety: All participants should be aware of the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) Participation Statement: “Climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.” Participants should appreciate that the activities undertaken while under instruction may be hazardous by their nature, and accept a certain element of risk. It is recommended that you make provision for activity and cancellation insurance.

Data Protection: Personal information is kept to allow Davy Virdee to contact you about your course; contact a third-party in case of an emergency; and keep a record of any medial or experience issues that may effect yours, or other participant’s safety during a course. This information will be shared with other instructors working with you to ensure your well-being. With your consent, your contact details will be kept to inform you of other courses and/or a newsletter in the future. All medical and third-party contact details will be removed after course completion. Davy Virdee or other instructors may also take photographs during the course and publish them on their websites and other social media. Please let Davy Virdee know if you object to any of this.

Instructors:  Davy Virdee may sub-contract instruction to another instructor – if this is the case you will be notified in advance. Any instructors working with you on a course will be appropriately qualified and experienced to deliver the course.
