Eric checks out his Snow ATM

Spent sunday working with Glencoe Ski club on Meall a bhuridh looking at winter skills – we toured the hill looking at the snow pack and practicing using ice axes, moving on snow and emergency rope use. Fresh snow fell during the day, along with lots of wind blown snow. Excellent cover at the moment for ski-ing and winter activities!

Thanks to the Club and Bruce, Eric, Chris, Sarah, Neil, Doug and Hamish for a great day out.

Andrew on Ledge Route

Cracking day on Ben Nevis on Saturday – lots and lots of fresh snow, and more fell during the day. We climbed ledge route and added in lots of variation to make the climb harder in places and avoid areas of deep snow in places.

Summit ridge

Plenty of fresh snow on Ben Cruachan this week – had a fantastic mountaineering day although careful route choice was needed as there was significant wind slab accumulations in places.

Ben Nevis

Excellent snow and ice in Ben Nevis and Glencoe – long may it last! All major lines seem complete, and with continued dry and cold weather the climbing conditions can only improve.
