Scrambling on the Bucchy

Filed under: Uncategorized — davy @ 9:24 pm

Amy on Great Gully ButtressSpectacular day scrambling on Buchaille Etive Mor. Amy, Chris, Cecilia, Jayden along with Glenn and myself climbed up Great Gully Buttress. Fantastic sustained scrambling up to the summit of the buccy. We met a gentleman on the top just completing his last Munro – luckily he got it in before the re-survey of Bein Dearg in Torridon, other wise he’ll have another to go!

Misty Mountains

Flic and Paul on a good stalker's path on Beinn na Caillich

Wet weekend based in Glencoe – Saturday walking up Beinn na Caillich - a fine hill overlooking Loch Leven. Not a soul all day on the hill except us, wet weather combined with a hill less than 914m ensures solitude. Low cloud and rain all day, but good views below 700m or so.

Sunday another wet day with low cloud and persistent drizzle – had an excellent afternoon with Paul scrambling around Gearr Aonach – looking for sound holds takes your mind off the wetness!

Haribo Scary Mix

Filed under: Uncategorized — davy @ 11:17 am

The Barbican In honour of our friend James currently powering up Everest fueled by Haribo, we headed down to the Lakes for a day’s CPD (Continued Professional Development) on Castle Rock in Thirlmere – with a pack of Haribo Scary Mix. Being the only climbers there, we had a good day out on Overhanging Bastian and The Barbican – both routes having an excellent mix of scary bits and steep juggy rock – The Barbican giving a superb exposed traverese

(Right, Andrew seconding the crux of The Barbican)
