Cam Chreags

Barry  wanted to get some climbs in for his Winter Mountain Leader award, so on reading the forecast for South westerly winds and overnight snow we headed to Cam Chreags on Meall Tarmachan hoping this venue wouldn’t be loaded with fresh snow and dangerous to climb. There was plenty of fresh snow, but the gully lines were not loaded and so we climbed Clark’s gully which gave us an excellent turfy, icy route in the sunshine. The exit slopes we safe and scoured. There was plenty of fresh snow and by mid afternoon there were flurries and the wind backed east to north and the face started to load up.

Andrew and Andy are in Glencoe this weekend preparing for Andy’s WML. I imagine they’ll report soon…
