Scrambling Weekend

Had a great weekend with Stephen, Gareth and Kerran. Saturday we spent looking at rope work skills when scrambling – we worked on a great wee crag just behind Lanagarbh in Glencoe. We talked about using the rope in an emergency – waist belays, spike belays and “classic abseiling”; then moving on to using climbing equipment – building anchors using slings and nut and belaying using belay devices.

Sunday we went up to Ben Nevis and had a spectacular day on Tower Ridge – a dry but chilly day at times and lots of teams climbing it. We shared the middle section with Guy and Carolyn up on holiday. We had a great time climbing up the little tower, great tower then along the infamous tower gap!
