Winter Climbing Taster

Lee en route

A late start due to a late night on Saturday meant we couldn’t get far north from Edinburgh on sunday, so we headed up to Coire Creagach in Drumochter. Certainly full conditions on the hill amd very wild with a lot more snow than we were expecting.

We climbed four short, but sweet routes between grade II and grade IV – some pictures included here – sorry about the quality as I forgot my camera and had to?use my phone.?That’s not the only thing we forgot as Lee left his harness in the car so we had to coble one together using an 2.5 metre length of sling Lee had in his rucksack. How can you remember to pack a huge piece of abseil tat, but forget your harness?

Coire Creagach is an excellent venue for winter skills and introductory winter climbing – interested? Drop me an email at info@mountainactive.co.uk
